Point to Point 2010

10th May 2010

Dedicated fans of point to point racing braved a chilly Bank Holiday Monday to support horses and riders at Witton Castle.

The Zetland Hunt held its annual point to point at the County Durham course, supported by sponsors including BHP Law.

The winner of the Restricted Race, sponsored by the regional law firm, was Go Moss Go ridden by Mark Walford.

Trainer Jill Jones of Cold Kirby, North Yorkshire, who co-owns the horse with her husband Steven, was delighted her only runner at the event came away a winner.

“Mark first rode him for me at Middleton but had to pull him up. The ground here suited him better so I was hoping to see him go really well,” said Jill.

Peter Blackett, Partner of BHP Law, presented Jill with the winner’s trophy.

The firm, which has offices in Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and Halifax, has been a sponsor of the Zetland Hunt point to point for the last 14 years.

This year around 300 guests joined staff for the family day, with refreshments provided in an exclusive marquee.
