BHP Home Opens in Durham City

3rd Mar 2010

The Mayor of Durham has welcomed a new estate agency to the city saying it will help the area to prosper.

BHP Home is in Claypath and was officially opened by Councillor Dennis Southwell.

The Mayor said: “It’s nice to see things happening in this part of the city. BHP Home is providing a service which we don’t have at the moment and that is a one-stop shop, which is what people want and demand.

“The housing market is picking up and it’s good for people to know they are in capable hands right through to completion on a property.”

Coun Southwell added: “We are taking off as a city. We have big ideas with the Capital of Culture bid and it’s good to see new businesses coming here.”

John Pratt, managing partner of BHP Law, and chief operating officer Andrew Sellers attended the official opening along with the BHP Home
Durham team and guests.

BHP Home managing director Raymond Blake presented the Mayor with a donation to his appeal charities, LiverNorth and Alzheimer’s and dementia research.

Raymond said: “It was an honour to have the Mayor and Mayoress perform our official opening and to endorse what we are doing in Durham.
“Our aim is to bring a fresh, proactive approach, to look at sellers’ properties in a new light and to encourage purchasers that there has rarely been a better time to buy.

“Durham is a fantastic city and we are very positive and enthusiastic about the property market here.”

The branch provides a one-stop shop for clients, who can draw on the advice of BHP Law’s legal team and financial advisers while buying, selling or letting.

Sales manager Ashley Fenwick and sales consultant Carolyn Stonehouse both have many years’ experience in property sales, and the company is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents and the Ombudsman scheme for estate agents.

Once Durham is established, BHP Home is aiming to expand elsewhere in County Durham and the Tees Valley.

The team is currently taking instructions to sell any property, at any price, anywhere on a special offer fee of £995.00 +VAT, subject terms and conditions. For a free market appraisal, contact Ashley or Carolyn on 0191 386 4236.

* BHP Home is at 90 Claypath and is open Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm and on Saturdays from 9am-4pm.
