Cheryl Burgess

Cheryl Burgess L.L.B Hons, an Associate Solicitor and Senior Family Lawyer within the family department, heads up the family team at the Newton Aycliffe office and is qualified to undertake privately funded cases on all issues of family work relating to divorce, dealing with children, finance and property disputes and has a good report with her clients.

She also undertakes work in public law proceedings acting for parents with children in care and is soon to gain accreditation as a specialist in this area on the Children Panel.

Cheryl is also a member of \'Resolution\' whose members are committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes, promoting a non-confrontational approach to family problems and encouraging solutions that consider the needs of the family as a whole and in particular, the best interests of children.

Cheryl qualified from the University of Northumbria but originally started out several years earlier undertaking defendant personal injury work as a Legal Assistant and so has some fourteen years experience of working within the legal industry.

Upon graduating she joined a family team of solicitors in Northumberland, rapidly gaining experience in all aspects of family law. She joined BHP in 2003 to develop and expand the Newton Aycliffe Office family practice.
