Ann Owens

Ann Owens is a Senior Family Lawyer who practised mainly in South Tyneside where she had her own Law Firm before joining Blackett Hart & Pratt in August 2003.

She is part of the Family Team operating out of the Newcastle and Durham offices.

Before qualifying as a Solicitor, Ann worked as a Civil Servant for 8 years in the then Department of Health and Social Security.

Ann was admitted to the Role of Solicitors in February 1994 and has specialised in Family Law for the past 14 years. She is a long term member of both SOLGAL and the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. Ann trained as a Mediator with the Solicitor’s Family Law Association in 1998. She is qualified to undertake privately funded, All Issues Mediation, dealing with children, finance and property disputes.

Ann was proud to be appointed as the Honourary Legal Advisor to the Durham Citizens Advice Bureau in October 2007 where she provides free legal advice to members of the Trustee Board. Ann has had a long involvement with the Citizens Advice Bureau and for many years was a member of the Rota Solicitors Scheme with South Tyneside Citizens Advice Bureau. Ann was also appointed as a Director and Trustee of Durham Citizens Advice Bureau.
