A NORTH-EAST law firm has appointed a new specialist to help seriously incapacitated clients manage their lives.
Emma Gaudern’s appointment with BHP Law marks a welcome return to the region she knew as a child.
Born in Guisborough, Emma also lived in Hartlepool and Stocksfield, Northumberland, before moving to the North West.
The 34-year-old studied at Leeds University and York Law College and trained in Manchester and Leeds.
She joins BHP Law’s specialist court of protection team, which looks after clients who have been debilitated and have to live the rest of their lives on the compensation they have received.
“I have been doing this sort of work for the past six years and really enjoy the fact that you build up a long and lasting relationship with clients and their families,” said Emma.
“Often we support them for the rest of their lives and compensation awards can be so large that they need help managing the sums of money involved.”
Emma added: “I’m really pleased to be back in the North East and to be working with a firm with the reputation of BHP.”
Outside of work, Emma plays netball and is a brown belt kick boxer.
