An Introduction to Franchising
Date: Thu, 15th Oct 2009 01:00
A SEMINAR that could help launch a host of new business opportunities in the North-East is to be held in October.
The Introduction to Franchising session takes place on Thursday 15th October 2009, at BHP Law in Newcastle with an impressive line-up of guest speakers to attract both existing and potential franchisors.
BHP Law, one of the region?s leading legal firms, has teamed up with The Franchise Company, of Darlington, to offer an invaluable insight into growing a business by franchising.
The seminar will cover a host of topics, including:
? What is franchising?
? The benefits of franchising;
? The franchisor-franchisee relationship;
? A franchisor?s view.
Speakers will include David Lucas, a partner in BHP Law, who is a respected authority on the issue of franchising.
BHP is one of only a small number of law firms across the country to be accredited by the British Franchise Association.
Mr Lucas said: ?In the current economic climate, we have found that a number of companies are looking at franchising their business models out as a means of growing.
?I have certainly seen an increase in the number of agreements being set up and we wanted to run a seminar using our knowledge to give prospective and existing franchisors guidance and support.?
Julie Waites, a partner in The Franchise Company, which was established in 1991 and has extensive experience in the UK and internationally, will also address delegates.
She said: ?For many companies in the North-East franchising will potentially be an excellent method of growing their business. We will look at how they could pursue that option.
?There are opportunities to get part-funding from Business Link North-East and franchising has now become a very significant sector of the small and medium enterprise economy.?
Timon Shiner, from Property Cashpoint, the number one property buyer in the UK who specialise in bringing together
vendors wishing to sell their property and investors seeking quality buy to let investment have been successful in
launching a franchise and will also tell of his first-hand experience.
The seminar, at 23 The Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, starts at 8.30am and runs for 45 minutes.
