Legislation around disciplinary issues and procedures concerning employees is ever changing. With formalised disciplinary and grievance procedures being in place since October 2004 employers must be aware of this statutory procedure.

This sets out simple steps which must be taken by an employer when contemplating dismissal, while there is also a procedure which has to be followed when dealing with employees’ grievances.
